1909年に設立されたフランスの名門ビジネススクールであるESSCA（フランス・グランゼコール）の、Christopher Williams 教授が来日し、当学部にて「21世紀のビジネスと平和ービジネスが紛争や戦争に対してどのような役割を果たせるのかー」の講演を行っていただく予定です。

　ビジネスが暴力的な紛争や戦争に対してどのような前向きな役割を果たせるかという問いは、学者、政治家、ジャーナリスト、そしてビジネスリーダーたちから近年、熱い注目を集めています。ビジネスは、経済的、環境的、社会的な貢献により、平和の促進に役立つことができます。しかし、多くのリスクや潜在的なマイナス面も存在します。紛争地域における緊張を高め、関係を悪化させる問題点などがその一つです。本講演では、「ビジネスと平和」という分野の背景、そして現在世界の研究者たちによって取り組まれている論点をお話しします。事例を用いて、（1）問題の複雑な性質、（2）地元の小規模企業が果たせる役割、（3）国際的な大企業や多国籍企業が果たせる役割、について説明します。

  The question of how businesses can play a positive role in contexts of violent conflict and war has received growing attention from academics, policymakers, journalists, and business leaders. Businesses can contribute to economic, environmental, and societal benefits that help foster peace. However, there are many risks and potential downsides too, including the issue of exacerbating tensions in conflict zones. In this talk, the background to the Business and Peace field will be outlined, along with some of the key questions and issues addressed by researchers. Case examples will be used to illustrate (1) the complex nature of the problem, (2) the role that small domestic companies can play, and (3) the role that large international companies (or multi- national enterprises - MNEs) can play.

クリストファー・ウィリアムズ教授

ESSCA戦略・アントレプレナーシップ・国際ビジネス学部教授

　クリストファー・ウィリアムズ教授はフランストップレベルのビジネススクールで、グランゼコールの一つであるESSCA（École Supérieure des Sciences Commerciales d'Angers, 1909年創立）の戦略・アントレプレナーシップ・国際ビジネス学部の教授です。ウィリアムズ教授は国際戦略、国際企業におけるイノベーション、医療関連の研究開発、そして組織レジリエンスを専門とされています。2007年に大学で教鞭をとり始める前、ウィリアムズ教授は20年間、医療関連の仕事に従事し、そのうち10年はIMS Health社（グローバル最大規模のヘルスケアソリューションカンパニー）に勤めていました。ウィリアムズ教授は70以上の査読論文・ブックチャプター、そして4冊の本を執筆し、30以上の戦略・国際ビジネスに関するケーススタディを作成しています。ウィリアムズ教授は英国とアイルランドの国籍を持ち、5つの国で働いた経験を持っています。

Professor Christopher Williams

Professor in the Strategy, Entrepreneurship, and International Business Department, ESSCA School of Management (Paris, France)

  His research interests include international strategy, innovation in international firms and contexts, health R&D and organizational resilience.  Before entering academia in 2007, Dr Williams spent two decades in industry, mostly in innovative and international environments, including 10 years with IMS Health. He has published over 70 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, as well as 4 books. He has also published over 30 teaching cases on strategy and management in international contexts. Christopher is a dual British-Irish citizen and has lived and worked in 5 countries.
